Join Us This Sunday for the Discover USC Open House!
This Sunday, October 19 is our university-wide on-campus Discover USC Open House. Even if it means that I have an early wake up call, it’s one of my favorite events, with thousands of students and parents eager to learn more about the university. This event is ideal for all students preparing their undergraduate application for USC this year! The energy is palpable. For some guests, it’s their first time coming to campus. We’re excited to welcome you! For others, it’s their second, third, or fourth time that they’ve visited us. We’re excited to welcome you back!
In addition to being one of my favorite events of the year, it’s also the most comprehensive for those looking to discover all that USC has to offer.

As you’ll see, there are not only information sessions led by USC admission counselors (we’re hosting both first-year and transfer student versions) and campus tours, but also so much more! There are general student panels and financial aid information sessions. This year, we even have an application workshop called You + SC: Telling Your Story in the Application. The academic and student life interest fair, which takes place throughout most of the day, is not to be missed. You can pick up information not only about majors and minors from each academic department but also about certain student centers on campus.
Furthermore, the Open House provides a rare opportunity to get a truly in-depth look at the major for which you’re applying. Each academic department holds its own activities—and not just information sessions. They hold student panels, dance classes, facilities tours, sample lectures, workshops, mixers, and portfolio forums. (Yes, Roski will give you feedback on your portfolio in a group setting! These opportunities are invaluable. Plus, you can go to multiple sessions if you have multiple major interests!
If you haven’t already, you can register here. This will allow you to get a full list of activities via email. You can also just show up and complete walk in registration. The event runs from 8:30am to 5pm. We hope you can join us!
