Happy Holidays from The Blog Squad! It’s been a great year at USC, and we hope that you are enjoying time with friends and family as things wind down. We’ve worked hard to provide a wide range of content - student perspectives, important updates about USC, fun information about Los Angeles, and much more. We posted over 100 blogs this year! We hope that you found some of these blogs to be useful, because our team enjoyed crafting these stories for everyone who tunes in.
Our blog squad consists of members from all around the country. Let’s hear what some of our holiday plans are:
Jessie Beeman, Assistant Director of Admission - Last Christmas Eve is when my husband proposed, so now it’s like an extra special holiday for us both! We’re going to make dinner and then go walk around the Dana Point Harbor (near where he proposed). They have a ton of Christmas lights up. It’s all very iconic and a must do in southern OC. We go every year!
John Russell, Assistant Director of Admission - This holiday season, I’ll be traveling to the Chicago area to visit family. Spending a few days with relatives and participating in Christmas and New Year’s Day family traditions is always a good reset for the end and start of my year.
Marlin Banuelos, Assistant Director of Admission - Just like every year, I will be home here in LA to celebrate Christmas Day on Christmas Eve (a common thing for many Hispanic families). It is one of my favorite holidays because my family will make traditional homemade tamales, my favorite Mexican dish! The day after Christmas I will also be going on a short trip to India and Singapore for the remainder of winter break (a gift to myself).
Jaelin Robin, Assistant Director of Admission - Happy Holidays! I am from Albany, New York and am flying back home to see family and friends during the break. I (sometimes) miss the cold winter season in the northeast and am looking forward to hopefully seeing some snow and spending time with my family and our two new puppies. Wishing you all a great end of the year.
